Charlene has been a professional artist showing nationally since she was a teenager. Her work has more recently focused on landscape, and her travels have given her the opportunity to paint the mountains of New England, the Virginia seacoast, Pennsylvania’s verdant greenery, California palms, and now in the Southwest, the richness of Arizona’s Valley of the Sun and the beauty of its encompassing mountains and deserts.
With a BFA in Painting and a PhD in Art History, Charlene has taught and lectured from Virginia to San Diego on subjects ranging from Life Drawing and Watercolor Painting to the lithographs of George Bellows and the paintings of Jan Van Eyck. She is always interested in the opportunity to share her knowledge of art and art history with students of all ages.
Charlene has designed and curated art exhibitions for galleries in Virginia, Pennsylvania and, most recently, in San Diego. She has curated national juried exhibitions on both printmaking and ceramic arts.
